Brick swarming in Paris

How about “brick swarming” or the futuristic plans to use a swarm of flying robots to build a structure? A cool story that ties in with last weeks video hit on a swarm of drone copters.

“Maybe (probably?) robots will create new job opportunities in computing, repair, policing and who knows what else, and of course it will be years, maybe generations before they can do what high-rise construction workers do. Still, something I would have called outlandish just ten years ago, (maybe even 10 minutes ago) is suddenly, demonstrably possible.”

Synchronised dancing popular with quadcopter pilots

A friend called it scary. What if these things would chase you?

The only thing that is scary about this is the possibility that these things can chase you is that there is no reasoning with them once they catch up. No ethics. No emotion, just hard, coded lines.

At the moment they don’t chase you now, they just do a little dance. It looks awesome. And a bit freaky too.

The Shift From Watching TV to Experiencing TV

“It’s not just TV controls and navigation that will need to improve for Internet TVs to become a success. An increasingly important part of Internet TVs will be the apps that you access on it. Whether they are existing examples like Facebook and Twitter, or new apps built specifically for TV usage, app designers have to get the “10-foot user experience” right (the typical distance between a user and their TV).”

Some can see this coming. TV will be disrupted in the form of content consumption, but also the way we interact with TV and TV content.

“Google has already lost control of Android and has zero chance of regaining it.”

The Guardian

An interesting article about the paradoxal succes of Android. How can it be that such a fragmented mobile platform can be so successful? Or is it? The article proposes 5 axes of mobile platform fragmentation.
